New Earth (Miniature I), paper pulp, waste insulation foam on terrazzo tile 12 x 12 x 2,5 cm, 2024

»During my residency at the LMCC Arts center on Governors Island (NYC), I worked with weathered insulation and styrofoam pieces that the wind blows off the ocean onto the island. I was shocked to see these petroleum based materials, as they break down but never disappear, become part of our soil, of the air we inhale and of our own bodies. I glued the found foam pieces to salvaged terrazzo tiles with paper pulp made from magazines.«
