»I use the basic forms as I find them in nature, in the sky, in water or in the earth, in railways or on the banks of rivers… I want to develop a personal language, very strict and clear, but at the same time free without constraints. These symbols traverse, give insight, intercept, disappear, create tension between them.... The circle, probably the most significant of the forms, is present everywhere in nature, while the square is a human invention.

Carl Jung believed that the circle symbolizes the processes of nature, the cosmos and the cycles of the universe, while the square represents the universe as man conceives and projects it. In my paintings, there is also this duality round - square, natural - human, feelings - reasoning, which collide against each other.

For a long time I searched an absolute deep black for my paintings, and finally I found it in England with Stuart Temple, the sworn enemy of Anish Kapoor. This deep black highlights the ‘natural’ colours of my series of paintings, which, seeing them together, further reinforces their expressiveness.«
